Since the founding of his luxury brand of the same name in 2009, Stefan Eckert has defined his corporate philosophy through the supporting pillars of his brand. These include his innovative and significant design, the highest quality in product and service and the self-evidence of sustainable practice in all areas. When talking about sustainability, the fashion designer refers above all to his sense of responsibility towards people, the environment and animals.
Because of striving for a better world in terms of our actions is part of our basic understanding, we would like to inform you in detail about our working methods. In the following we will give you a first insight into this. If you have any further questions, you are always welcome to contact us. Please contact us by mail or by phone.
First we would like to explain that an animal does not die “also” for the skin, but purely for the reason of meat production. This can be understood by everyone who calculates the marketing value of e.g. a lamb at the meat counter. It quickly becomes clear that slaughtering the animal – even without further processing of the skin – is extremely profitable and would undoubtedly be practiced in any case. Consequently, nobody saves animals by not wearing leather. It is different with crocodile leather or fur, for example. Here, the value is of course clearly the skin/fur. Stefan Eckert therefore wholeheartedly rejects the use of such types of leather.
In a nutshell, the processing of animal skins into high-quality and life-long durable products, such as Stefan Eckert’s leather jackets, is recycling in the best sense and a valuable contribution to environmental protection.
