Material origin
Stefan Eckert uses both high-quality nappa and exclusive suede leather. Accordingly to his philosophy, the designer works exclusively by-products or waste products of the food industry. For example these are lamb, deer, moose, ostrich and python.
Likewise is the selection of fabrics, such as silk, cashmere and cotton, subject to strict criteria. Especially in terms of the high quality and ethical processing/production of the material.
Production
Stefan Eckert produces all parts of his collections exclusively in-house studio in Hamburg. The processing techniques are based on the high art of tailoring and are executed in precise manual work.

Vegan leather
The term “vegan leather” is misleading. Compared to real leather It may be optically leather-like, but is not comparable in terms of quality and durability. Hence Stefan Eckerts process is a recycling of natural materials in the best sense of the word. He takes waste from the food industry and artfully transforms it into a lifelong product of the fashion industry. Finally, the products of Stefan Eckert, are designed to last a lifetime. On the other hand, the shelf-life limited “vegan leather” – like most textiles – quickly becomes another waste product.
